They were still assholes, but at least you knew what to expect from those assholes. Now we have Trumpublicans, and they don't deserve the air that fills their lungs. All they care about is power and money, and they have absolutely no qualms about doing anything, legal or illegal, to obtain either. My father was a Reagan Republican. He worshiped the ground Reagan walked on. I used to ask him about the Iran-Contra affair, the HUD scandals and the S&L collapse - to name just a few Reagan scandals - and "these were all things that were needed to make the country right". Yeah.........OK, Dad. He's been dead 26 years now, but I doubt even he would be able to stomach Trump. My Mom's 92 now, a lifelong Republican, and she hates Trump.
