George Papadopoulos' wife's doctored passport photo stokes new questions

For wife of sentenced former Trump adviser, a doctored passport photo stokes new questions

"Last week, Simona Mangiante attempted to mount a counterattack on those who have suggested she has lied about her past, sharing names of people she identified as former co-workers from the legal community and sharing a photo of the identifying information in her passport.

On Monday, Mangiante acknowledged altering the passport photo after she faced pressure online from an independent journalist who has raised persistent questions about her identity. The journalist, Scott Stedman, reported on Twitter that he had obtained a copy of Mangiante’s marriage certificate, where the date of birth listed differed from the one on the passport photo provided to ABC News. Her date of birth also differed on an Italian legal database, as ABC News noted in its reporting last week.

Mangiante said she altered the date in order to appear younger — which she considered an age-old desire of women everywhere, but especially in Hollywood, where she has moved to pursue an acting career. She argued that the discrepancy is proof of nothing more malicious than a bit of vanity, but felt it was important now to come clean. "I admitted being born in 1981," she said. "That the picture of my passport was photoshopped to provoke journalist but that I was the one to set the record straight."

Stedman was not the first to harbor doubts about Mangiante’s personal history. When federal investigators from Special Counsel Robert Mueller’s office charged her then-fiancé in October 2017, they also pulled her aside to ask her whether she spoke Russian or had ever traveled to Moscow. In the months that followed, especially when she became more vocal in public, she was asked repeatedly if she was concealing any ties to foreign intelligence outfits."

---------------------

I remember seeing George Papadopoulos and his wife on The View and being gobsmacked when she started speaking. She spoke with what sounded like a Russian accent even though she claims to be 100% Italian.

When Papadopoulos was an adviser for the Trump campaign, he first met Simona Mangiante on LinkedIn through a mutual connection. Their mutual connection was Joseph Mifsud. Simona worked for Mifsud in 2016 at the London Centre of International Law Practice. Mifsud, a suspected Russian operative, is the guy who told Papadopoulos the Russians had dirt on Hillary and put him in touch with a Russian foreign ministry official with the goal of setting up a meeting between candidate Trump and Putin.

Between Simona's Russian accent, her connection to Mifsud (who is now missing & speculated to be dead or living under a new identity), and the doctored passport... I'm increasingly skeptical that she is who she says she is.

or what. but it's pretty clear she works for russia.

maybe even he doesn't even know and she is using him and that's why we had that news about how he wanted to go back on some deal he made with mueller.

a few times i have seen them even if the issue was about his actions with the trump campaign, russia and everything else she seemed to dominate and almost guide him.

If she was an agent, and didn't register as someone working for another county, like trump himself has not done.

first language is Russian would be pretty difficult. It would be like me not only having to learn Chinese, but also Spanish, and then on top of all of that having to learn to speak the Chinese in a Spanish accent when neither one are my first language.

Does not sound like the Italian immigrants and exchange students I've known. Maybe she's from the Russian part of Italy.
