Republicans ..as in Mitch Turtle head McConnell has said the Deficit is out of reach and we must overhaul Medicare, Social Security and Medicaid and other entailments in order to bring the deficit under control and we are looking at, according to the Corporate media, Republicans holding on to the Senate?? Really?
Those Democratic Senators in Red States we keep hearing about need to repeat this McConnell message everyhour of every day till election..
haven't heard much from the DNC ...

(3,344 posts)This has been true for decades, though. Republicans have attacked these programs since the day they were proposed.
The real problem is why doesn't the press actually inform voters?
Too much blame is placed on the Democratic party when we have a massive corporate conservative controlled media that spreads poison and lies every day.

(18,634 posts)Why would he say this right before the election and risk losing votes?
Only if he is trying to put Dems in control for the next session.
Could he know about something so damaging that will happen soon that he would rather Democrats manage it instead of Republicans?
Maybe he knows the Mueller report will be devastating and that if he controls the Senate and fails to get an impeachment conviction it could destroy his future. He may be trying to move himself out of the firing line.
