Even after the horrifying assassination and torture of a Saudi journalist, he still took the time to praise a Republican office-holder who body slammed a reporter.

He wants violence against journalists. He wants them to fear him and his followers.

It is deliberate and conscious.

Link the Khashoggi vivisection to Gianforte's body slam of a reporter and the shooting at the Capital Gazette, and you would think the tone of the stories filed by reporters covering the administration would change a little bit. Instead, they continue to report it all straight, as if this is the most routine and ordinary thing in the world. An unfounded shoutycracker accusation of liberal bias is more important than their physical well-being or even their life.
