No doubt she is entitled to a certain number of days off per her contract. It's a job, not a public service.

We are all spectators of this shit show but she has to be in it and investigate it and basically live it as her living. For me, I sometimes just have to tune it totally out. I won't listen to it in the car, I won't watch it on tv and I won't even read it. I just need a breather.

I would think she needs to get out of it to keep her sanity. She's in the trenches of it way more than we are.

Long weekends are needed to restore her maximum alertness for all the crazy late-breaking news.

If she's going to have three day weekends, I wish she would take Mondays off. Friday is almost always a big news day.

top every minute of the day..I would bet she is constantly working, verifying content, talking with journalists, how else could she bring to us, the BEST analysis, no matter the story...

Rachel is relentless in turning over every stone, look out over todays political landscape - once we get closer to the election, she will be on air 'round the clock....

Rachel is amazing///

14. Rachel Works Long, Intense Hours Preparing for Her Show

She needs time off so she doesn’t burn out. I miss her when she’s off the air but don’t begrudge her taking time off to recharge her batteries from the intense pressure. Give Rachel a break!

And don't whine about how she and her staff work hard...…..her staff is SILL THERE on Friday nights. WE ARE IN AN ELECTON YEAR! What do some of you not get that? She needs to be in that chair EVERY FRIDAY NIGHT...at least until the election is over. And I feel sorry for Joy who often has to cover for the absent Rachel and be up for her OWN early show Saturday morning. Most journalists are there FIVE DAYS A WEEK. And cover their own time. I am tired of Rachel feeling she is so special.

If you don't like her being off your beef is with MSNBC for writing the contract.

I feel Rachel has a low tolerance to colds and flu type illnesses. My Granddaughter is very much like her. She works hard but needs to rest at times to maintain her energy and keep well.
