Gorbachev says US making 'mistake' by quitting Russia nuclear treaty

Former Soviet leader Mikhail Gorbachev has said he thinks the Donald Trump is making a “mistake” by leaving its nuclear treaty with Russia.

Mr Gorbachev was one of the original signatories to the Intermediate-Range Nuclear Forces (INF) Treaty, signed originally in 1987 with then-US President Ronald Reagan.

“Under no circumstances should we tear up old disarmament agreements. ... Do they really not understand in Washington what this could lead to?,” Mr Gorbachev said to Interfax news agency.

Mr Trump had announced the move after a political rally in the US state of Nevada just a few weeks before the 2018 midterm elections.

I had a classmate in college who wanted to flunk out with the worst grade point average in history. Trump reminds me of this fucking guy.

He pulls out when he shouldn't(see above) and doesn't when he should(see Eric, Don Jr. , Stormy Daniels may have something small to add).

I'll tell ya, I have been pondering just what may have precipitated this move by The One That Hath The Attention Span of an Incontinent Squirrel(I have nothing against squirrels as I feed them - willingly or not - every day), but I can find nothing substantive. The thing that may make sense to him is that he is rightly perceived as being weak on Russia, so he thinks withdrawing from a nuclear arms agreement made 30 years ago is going to sway opinion.

What I just typed would not be a bad example of insanity, but there it is.

This move by Phallus Impudicus* reeks of desperation and autocracy - a very dangerous blend.

*Phallus impudicus is a real thing. Check it out. I'm using that as my Trump moniker until further notice.
