My Democratic day: a meeting with Grace Nelson and the FL gov debate

I had the great fortune this evening to be part of a small group of Democrats in my little red county to meet with Grace (Mrs. Senator Bill) Nelson. What a lovely, intelligent, compassionate woman!

She spoke of their great concern about what is happening in this country. She visited Rwanda after the genocide and reconciliation and met with villagers and the country's president. She talked about the frightening similarities between Rwanda pre-genocide and the US now - the tribalism, the IDing as tribe (party) rather than as Rwandan, the hate filled media, the "other-ing" of opponents.

Her message was one of peace and finding ways to come together. She also talked about how well the campaign is going - every newspaper in FL that endorses candidates has endorsed Bill Nelson!

She and her husband represent the way politics used to be. A refreshing remembrance.

Got home to watch our Andrew Gillum debate whosit Trumpster.

Are you two talking about the red tide in the water or the one making government offices nasty and toxic to Floridians?

I'm hearing stories of the horrid stench, people getting ill, tourism non-existant in SW FL. People are losing their homes and businesses. Now it's coming up toward Tampa and into the Atlantic coast.

It's horrible, and getting little media coverage in this race.

We seem to get multiple crises every day, most of them manufactured for GOP agenda.

Sure will be nice to have competent people in government working for the nation rather than a power grabbing scheme.

I support Florida.

Your candidates are inspiring. I watched Mayor Gillum tonight. Woah. He blew me away.

Republicans had their opportunity & just look what they did with it.
Once again, ithe task will be handed to the Democrsts to clean up the disaster of a Republican govt.

And they always come thru for the people don't they.

As Grace Nelson said, her husband isn't perfect, but he is proud and humbled to be a public servant.

To sit as you did and listen to these people, Mrs Nelson, talk of inspiring days & possibilities, would put me in a whole new frame of mind.
Makes you realize how weary we can become when all we listen to is MSM.

A good night to you, mcar

Thanks
