General Discussion
Related: Editorials & Other Articles, Issue Forums, Alliance Forums, Region ForumsWe need to admit that Donald Trump is nothing more than a spirit animal for mediocre white men.
After all, he's spent his entire life furthering the cause of self-entitled mediocre whiteness. Now we're all paying that price. When men of honor and valor were sacrificed on the field of battle in Southeast Asia, he used every bit of influence handed down from his martinet father to avoid putting his own life on the line for his own country.
When better men stood up to him, ridiculed him, mocked him and rightfully so, he turned to pettiness, instead of self-reflection. Great men know that they have limits. Weak men, like Trump, deny that that they have any at all and fail to recognize that not seeing their own limitations is a personality fault.
However, Trump knows how to weaponize the feelings of inadequacy in other mediocre white men and they have answered his call, even if it's to their own detriment.
People like Ted Cruz, Lindsey Graham and Ron DeSantis have bitten off way more than they can chew, because they were all empowered, despite their clear lapses of character and intellect. Self-victimized young white men, who have been failed by a compromised education system and economic inequality, as well as a lack of civic responsibility, flock to Neo-Nazis like Gavin McGuinness, all because Trump gives them a sense of empowerment, merely because they were born white.
Trump's base consists of the most hateful, ignorant and bigoted white people alive. He stokes their anger and feelings of persecution, suggesting that their own whiteness represents a liability in this country, despite the fact that white people control practically EVERYTHING.
The only way to end this nightmare of compensatory white entitlement is for other white people to join hand in hand with other people to sweep it away. A resistance of diversity with a genuine sense of community needs to neutralize Trumpism and everything it represents. It all needs to be swept away and deposited on the ash heap of history.
Trump, his cult and his political enablers all represent an existential threat to the nation and they all must stopped. Otherwise, each and every one of us will be doomed to live under the control of weak, dishonorable, dishonest crooks, who are only looking out for themselves at the expense of everyone else.
It's been said that a chain is only as strong as its weakest link. Trump and his cult are weak links that will fail to support our national interests and the well-being of the American people. Unless we can remove and replace those compromised chains, we risk all of our futures.
We need to do that together.

(530 posts)Mediocre is defined as, "of only moderate quality; not very good" and would imply at least some redeeming qualities. If I were looking for a way to describe the heinous individual occupying our White House and the Oval Office within, it would be "an intentionally malevolent, malignant, baleful, vindictive bully".
I agree with the point you are making in your post but I would not describe the WH Resident as "mediocre".
Absolutely correct...
The Orange Menace is perfect example of being on the wrong side of every accepted norm of human behavior.
A word no one is using nearly enough today, IMO, is trumpery : "showy but worthless". That describes his life completely.

(6,178 posts)Trump is the second highest ranking Satan on the planet. The first, of course, being his boss, Putin.
Contrary to religious teachings, there is more than one Satan. There are many millions of Satans, and billions of devils and demons, on this planet. Even the old testament says that 1/3 of the angels fell from heaven. Well, there are over 7 billion people on this planet, so to say that 1/3 of them are dark ones is not as Trump says, "fake news".
Why do you think that so many people are rabid supporters of Trump? They actually worship him! He is their "god".
And, hate is their religion.
And Trump is hate personified.

those lies and distortions that liberals and dems ignored have done a lot of damage - trump supporters are living in radio land. that is the weakest link because it is their only advantage and it is only an advantage because liberals ignore it
