What is the Turkish strategy with the Khashoggi murder?

Why are they managing the story this way?

They came up with the initial revelation, then drop one new tidbit every day to keep the story going. Today's story is that a body double left the consulate in Khashoggi's clothes. Yesterday, it was that MBS talked to Khashoggi on a cell phone right before Khashoggi was murdered in the consulate. Government-backed news sources or government officials are carefully laying out daily revelations.

and they have the audio and video from inside the consulate, so they say, but haven't let anyone else see them.

This is apparently meant to cause maximum embarrassment to Saudi Arabia and specifically to MBS. What does Turkey hope to get out of this situation, besides the embarrassment?

Khashoggi was ethnically Turkish, by the way, though his family has lived in Saudi Arabia for several generations. Is this about nationalist pride?

1. Interesting ponderance.

I was wondering that myself. Turkey is tight with pootie as is SA, jealousy over attention from the "funders" or something Jared and MBS did that pissed off Erdogan (aside from pulling this off in Istanbul). I did not know that Mr. Khashoggi was of Turkish descent, there could be something to that... these despots all seem to focus on a "pure" population so maybe it's one or a combination of these aspects of the man's life that made him a target. That is, aside from being a critic. But if he was also a critic of cheatolini too, well, I can see where the mob members in the WH would participate in this somehow like passing along a hit list. They can't get away with that here, yet, so they have outsourced their murder operations to SA.
