Anyhow, if you won the lottery you'd have to pay at least 40% in federal and state taxes, so you wouldn't end up with even $1B. But I'd be quite happy with what's left over.

Winning a lottery like that would be a free pass to a permanent Canadian residency. I might just do that if my lottery entry won. It won't, though, no doubt, so I'm stuck here.
