For DeSantis and Scott -- ONLY IN AN ALTERNATE REALITY!
Proudly voted for Gillum and (once again) Nelson, in very blue PBC. No hassles or issues.

(62 posts)I just voted straight blue ticket in downtown Pensacola. No lines, very helpful staff, and easy-to-read ballot. This is a VERY conservative area, often called L.A. (Lower Alabama), so I'm kind of the blue sheep of the family. But there are Dem voters even here, and the local turnout to protests and marches over the past two years has been uplifting. I don't think FL-01 will unseat the barely-human Matt Gaetz (of course, I voted for Jennifer Zimmerman, his opponent), but at least I banked a vote for Gillum and Nelson.

(1,737 posts)I have a good feeling about this one. Seems as if many got the memo to wear all blue. A lot of minority voters like myself in line this morning. Go Dems!

(31,261 posts)I would "X" those two fools names (DeSantis and Scott) out, but the scanner may mistake that as a vote for them. So I will do things the old fashioned way, fill out the oval for their opponents.

(16,296 posts)What part of the Great Sunshine State are you in? I'm a bit east of Pensacola and would really like to see this area turn blue. My son who lived here before me said this area was once a Democratic stronghold, but changed when school desegregation came about.

(31,261 posts)It has never been progressive democrat, but Leon and Duval counties are pretty much blue (Leon more than Duval). Hooefully the counties nearest them will start to change.
