Rick Scott's campaign releases an internal poll showing him up 51-46, & DeSantis up 48-45. (I believe this is the first poll released post-primary, independent or internal, with DeSantis ahead.)

7. It's an attempt to fire up their base.

Several polls over the last week have shown Gillum and Nelson expanding their leads. Coming off DeStantis' miserable performance last night, they needed to get something out there to try to give their base something positive to feed off of.

They know that if the Florida Republican base is seeing poll after poll of them getting drilled, it could depress turnout. They don't want their voters thinking "What's the point of voting if I know we're gonna lose."
