Iowa restaurant owner refuses to book space for Republican bash

WATERLOO, Iowa (AP) — The owner of a downtown Waterloo brewery and restaurant has refused to reserve space for a Republican election night party, saying it's not "the right fit."

Black Hawk County GOP treasurer LeaAnn Saul told the Waterloo-Cedar Falls Courier that she tried to book space for 75 people the night of Nov. 6 at SingleSpeed.

"It was my first choice," Saul said. "It's a great location, a great venue. Republicans love to go there just like anyone else."

But SingleSpeed owner Dave Morgan refused.

Why take responsibility for anything when you can just blame the other side and get your mob to go along with it?

We don't go out much, but Waterloo isn't that far away.

was one time when I was 11 or 12 and my grandparents took me with them to Manitoba Canada for an Airstream rally. That would have been over 40 years ago.

I hope I'm near there before I die though so I can spend some money at this place. I like beer and food and people that tell republicans to go pound sand.

which is closer than where I am now.

I remember that trip driving through the Dakotas but I don't remember much else about the route. We would have left from Tallahassee and Google maps suggests a pretty straight shot that goes around Iowa but still pretty close - however we are talking over 40 years ago so the highway system may have been much different PLUS one of the beautiful things about grandma and grandpa is they often took the scenic route. I don't remember the roads we took but I remember learning a life-long love for diners on the way. And the occasional fish sandwich and orange soda at McD's.

Is the GOP now a protected class? That's only half-assed sarcastic, given how GOPers try to distort laws against anyone who doesn't vote GOPer.
