in the mail today. It is from the DCCC. This is the first time I received an application for absentee ballot in the mail. I always vote in person. Guess they are trying to insure I vote by some method. I prefer to vote in person. BTW, Im in Virginia...

(5,914 posts)I wouldn't trust it. Vote however you usually do.
There are shenanigans a-plenty going on.

(33,643 posts)make it look like the DCCC is doing something shady and illegal. Either that, or its to get you to submit a ballot that will be rejected ... but you'll think you've voted.
If a big 'BREAKING NEWS' story about this suddenly pops up on Faux ... I won't be surprised, put it like that.

(5,914 posts)From fake phone calls telling Dems that poll locations / dates have changed to similar mailings like the one you received, tricking people into thinking they've already voted
I'd get on the horn with your local Dem office (NOT the number on your "ballot" and let them know. They'll tell you what to do.
Fuckers simply CANNOT win without cheating.

(1,533 posts)And being prepopulated, it isn't a valid ballot in the first place. It's likely a scam to get one to think they have voted.

(32,086 posts)The republicans will do anything to keep Democrats from voting, including mailing out phony applications for absentee ballots. They probably never even reach the Secretary of State's office. There's a similar thing going on with robocalls that are allegedly from the DCCC. When people call back, they get a message that the number's in box is full.
