Voted today in North Carolina

I live in a a Democratic area (Goldsboro) that was gerrymandered into a very Republican District, NC -7, David Rouzer (R) is the House incumbent. While there is very little prospect of beating him due to his tremendous funding advantage, I think if we can get out our vote there is a good chance to get a Democrat into the NC House and/or Senate to break the State Republican's veto proof majority in the State Legislature. Also, election of a Democrat to the Supreme Court will guarantee a Dem majority on the court through 2024, especially important for the 2020 reapportionment.

Our Dem state House candidate has been campaigning pretty actively - this year was the first time I've ever had canvassers for a state office in the 15 years I've lived here.

I voted Friday for every Dem candidate on the ballot, and against all the constitutional amendments.

My blood boils when I see a spot on the ballot that is not contested by a Democrat. It is so important to have opposition across the board so the Repugs at least have to spend their time, efforts and money in other than usual places. And in a "wave" year, what is normally token opposition could prove to be winning opposition.

btw, I also voted "no" on all the constitutional amendments. From what could see by talking to other people, most are confused by the amendments and really have no idea what they are all about. I hope that confusion leads to people voting "no" simply because they don't understand them.
