re: Migrant Caravan: At this speed it will take them 72-90 days to get to US border

Pesach Lattin @pacelattin

This is where the "Migrant Caravan" is, and how far they've gone since this started. Based on this speed, will take them 72-90 days to get here. Almost all will settle in Mexico. This is a fear tactic based on GOP wanting votes only.

...that this democrat mob won't arrive on election day, greeted by buses that will whisk them straight to the polls?

20 miles this weekend.

I have a good quality back pack. Good quality hiking boots. Hiking sticks. A water filter with several creeks, two water falls, and a spring on the way. Freeze dried food pouches. A little can of gas and a small backpack stove. A bahco saw and all the fire wood I could want laying around from the past storms. A titanium cup and spork. Light weight and warm sleeping bag. And I love to be outside and this was the place I most wanted to be.

And it was hard.

My pace for two days is about the pace that these folks are making.

God bless these folks. Bless them. I don't imagine that many are going to walk 1,000 miles. Look, I know that people do it all the time, I know someone who came here from Guatemala, but I can't imagine that large a group staying intact across all of Mexico.

That's averaging 11 or 12 miles or so a day. Look, AT through hikers go about six months, and that is twice as far, so 90 days would be matching the pace of the average AT through hiker, they probably average 15 miles a day. Granted, the AT is all up or down hill, but I'm thinking going across Mexico isn't a stroll in the park.

How do you feed that many people moving for three months? Manna?

Bless these folks.

I am so angry and sad at how ugly some Americans are.

"Trek" sounds more like the hardship that it is.
