Republican Florida gubernatorial nominee Ron DeSantis on Monday pulled out of planned meetings with the editorial boards of a chain of newspapers.
The Tallahassee Democrat, one of six papers that make up the USA Today network in Florida, reported that a spokesman for the DeSantis campaign informed the paper that he would not attend a planned editorial board meeting with the newspaper and representatives of the editorial boards of other papers in USA Today's network in Florida.
Editorial board meetings are typically held with political candidates before the newspaper makes its endorsement.
The meeting with DeSantis would have been broadcast on Facebook Live and featured questions from Floridians, according to the Democrat.
DeSantiss Democratic opponent, Tallahassee Mayor Andrew Gillum, is set to meet with the newspaper network next week.

Good riddance.

(4,291 posts)Ill bet you half a peach that baby donnie will make a few campaign stops here to support his sycophant, Ron DeRacist.
OK, Hurricane Michael has greatly impacted many precincts in the Panhandle an area that had traditionally supported RepubliCONs. Nonetheless, I dont see a lot of my neighbors in Jacksonville removing their yard signs.
Stay strong! Get out each and every blue vote! Too much is at stake to chalk this one up as a win two weeks before the (regular) polls open!

(39,343 posts)I think trump has affected the Repukes by dampening the excitement for a lot of "barely republicans". Sure , the extremists will always show but last time I saw way more trump signs than I see for desantis. There are even a few for Gillum in my neck of the woods.

(4,291 posts)Hi, neighbor!
Those (DeRacist) signs are few and far between.
In my daily travels, I've noticed more RepubliCON yard signs at street corners, especially those with high traffic patterns. Mostly businesses; but last I checked business entities do not get to vote. Yet.
There are a couple of Scott and Duggan signs at the lot at the end of my street in Avondale, but I see a LOT more signs for Gillum and especially for Tracye Polson on my street. But that's just my street.
Stay strong, good neighbor!

(3,428 posts)so that he can see what kinds of questions are being asked; then he will ask for a meeting with the editorial boards. Not only is DeSantis a coward, he is also a moran

(7,447 posts)he's only real hope is to keep his mouth shut and hope that a lack of stupid statements over the final two weeks results in folks forgetting and sliding back towards him because he has an R next to his name.
