(4,484 posts)of the way they vote. If one candidate doesn't get enough support, they pick their 2nd choice... will they all pick Romney or will they pick Santorum, or shock us all by picking Ron Paul?

(42,770 posts)continues. He has a way of cutting to the chase and belittling the stupid Repuke opinions - like when they say they would bomb the hell out of Iran, he'll say it's stupidest most irresponsible thing to do ever - and many americans believe that. In fact, think in some ways, he's like having a dem in the midst of their race.
My all time favorite was when Cain was asked who his favorite head of the Fed was. You could hear the wheels clicking as he tried to think of a name, forget who his fav was, just a name. He said Greenspan, phew. And Ron Paul just lit into him.
"Greenspan !!! ??? He was the absolute WORST" The whole exchange was hysterical.

(61,599 posts)The last thing we want is for Republicans to rally around Romney. I'm sure that Romney is the eventual nominee but the longer they take to decide, the more money the spend, and the more they tear one another down in the process, the better for us.

(4,484 posts)Unless they are doing so as a joke to screw with people, and really... I've never known a democrat OR republican who actually bothered to do that in real life.

(300 posts)I think it's young people who have been hooked by Paul and, as many do, have only scanned the surface. They read his positions on Iraq and think "anti-war!!!111" "civil libertiieieeieeeees!!!11" and then don't pay attention to the fact that his domestic policy would shred the chance of million upon million of Americans ever having any real, functioning 'liberty'.
Well, it's either that or they're just a bunch of little fucking fascists who don't care and genuinely want to send anyone without health insurance the way of the dodo. Maybe it's the hippies turned yuppies cycle repeating itself.

(32,683 posts)Based on the early votes coming in, it looks like Romney underperforming in his key regions. He could come in 3d.

(15,189 posts)Said it's too close to call, and Santorum is first, Paul second, and Mittens third.
musicblind
(4,484 posts)But that just changed. Now Paul is tied with Santorum at 24% each.
No, wait just changed here. Paul with 25% and Santorum with 23% and Romeny 23%.

(4,484 posts)Apparently they stated this because people complained on twitter.
They said they think this could be because Paul was more organized so got people to the doors earlier?

(61,599 posts)Santorum is not a viable candidate even with the incredibly low bar the Republicans have. He will implode eventually, so wasting the Iowa caucus on him would be devastating for the Republicans. Similarly, Ron Paul doesn't have a snowball's chance in hell to win the general election, so promoting him now is a waste of time and energy for the Republicans. Dissing Romney, their best possible chance, means they're shooting themselves in the foot. Yay for us.

(4,484 posts)I just don't trust the GOP establishment.
Something in my guts just wonders if they wouldn't rig it. You know?
Gah, I'm probably crazy.
