Should be ads saying it just like that. Straight. Clear. Powerful. Would fire up people bigtime. Then it should say, "Republicans are out to take your Social Security and healthcare away to pay for their tax scheme giveaway to the rich. Vote for Democrats who will protect your Social Security Medicare and Medicaid."
Where is it????

(21,714 posts)Still said they wouldn't dare touch it. That may be true for those that have already retired, but the leadership in the other party are just damn greedy

(6,974 posts)However I live in California, a state which is DEEP BLUE, and I've seen Scott Walker on an ad saying that he truly believes in saving pre-existing. I'm in Cali, not Wisconsin. But no, not too much yet from Dems as of yet by way of ads concerning what you're saying.
We know thuglicans are going to blame those 3 tax cuts for the rich (The business tax cut is permanent) tanking the economy and raising the deficit to over a trillion dollars in 2019/2020 on Dems, who you'd think would get out there ahead of that shit NOW in late 2018.
I won't hold my breath waiting on Dems to do that however

"Van Hollen, who chairs the Senate Democratic campaign committee, held a conference with other party leaders to focus on McConnells comments. They sought to add urgency to arguments Democrats have been making in ads and campaign appearances all year, arguing that Republicans ballooned the deficit by passing a $1.5 trillion tax cut that mostly benefited corporations and the wealthy, and will now try to repair the damage by slashing entitlement programs.
We need to make sure the public knows exactly whats up, Van Hollen said. Mitch McConnell gave the game up in his comments, and now we just have to make sure the country knows.

Whether a lot of that is happening or not I don't know, but the MSM is not going to help propagate it, it will be up to the Democrats.
I know the ACA, and preexisiting condition repeal has been used by Democrats against republicans in key states against republicans who tried to repeal the ACA and preexistting condition, and now are trying to back away from it. Those ads are probably not going to be in great abundence in states like California, but I am pretty sure in states like Texas etc. that will be playing in both the debates and television ads.

Don't understand it. It's simple, it will absolutely work, and there is no effective way for the GOP to fight it when their party leaders are openly backing it. You show a picture of Mitch McConnell with his own words, play some ominous background music and tell the viewer that this is what they can expect if Republicans, including [insert name of Trumplican candidate] retain control of Congress. Do this everywhere and win both houses. Done.
I will never understand what focus groups the Democrats use for messaging, but I'm pretty sure that it's the same one that gave us "New Coke".
