There is no electorally viable conservatism without racism.Link to tweet The smack-you-in-your-face truth is, Republican party *can't hold onto power without white nationalism.* Take away hatred, xenophobia, racism & violent rhetoric against brown/LGBTQ people - what's left? Grover's tax cuts and Pete Peterson's deficit obsession. But no voters. This is true & I haven't seen it discussed enough. If the GOP ditched white nationalism & focused on the allegedly more noble Kaisch-style "fiscal conservatism" ... it would lose every election, forever. There is no electorally viable conservatism without racism.

4. They are NOT conservative, and we should stop using that term.
Conservative = holding to traditional attitudes and values and cautious about change or innovation, typically in relation to politics or religion.
They are radicals. |
