I just voted here in Oklahoma.

While i was waiting I overheard two ladies talking. One identified herself as a lifelong republican, she sounded so sad when she said "I don't recognize my party anymore, this man is a terrible President", she then sighed and said, "but I guess I will do what I always have done and stick with my party". That is what is wrong with the country, even when they have a dictator as a leader they fall into line like sheep.

I didn't want to get into a political discussion while waiting to vote so I kept my peace but it was VERY HARD not to turn around and smack her into reality.

GOTV, no matter what you do. I am volunteering to drive people to the polls, I have canvassed, and done a few phone banks, I do what I can. I can't just sit back and let these people hijack our country.

I've been phoning daily and will continue until the election. Mr. Pup has been canvassing and the comments he gets from Republicans are encouraging. People are fed up with the drama and quite a few say, "I've voted Republican my whole life, but this time I just can't" and then they put a sign up in their yard. It feels different. I'm hopeful!

Edited to add: Thank you so much for you volunteer hours and for your passion.

I did hear that a little while canvassing this year. I didn't have as many rude people as in the past when I have done this. I had one man say the President made him embarrassed to be a Republican. I don't think we will know what is going on until Tuesday night. This one could be a stunner. I don't think any of the polls can be trusted right now.

I was on twitter this morning and there was a very long thread of past republiconneds who were voting straight blue. They were very excited about a democratic future. One said that there may be a huge early vote turnout of republiconneds, but that many were voting blue very eagerly. So, there's that. It's going to feel my optimism all day. Then of course, the evening news will crush my spirit again.
