Why is the right wing always so scared?

Scared. Terrified. Trembling in their boots. Jumping at shadows. They stockpile weapons and 'aim' to use them or so they say. They are going to stand up to all those lefties. TO ARMS!

The others, the foreigners, the none white, those Mexicans, Native Americans, Jews, LGBTQ, AA and Muslims are going to defile your womens and take away your religion. They are going to take your jobs. Oh and speaking of women, yup, they are terrified of them as well since they refuse to STFU and do as the menz say. They are uppity and they fear their uppitiness.

How are they going to do all this while hiding under their bed in fear while clutching their cache of guns. Revolution my ass.

Remember the crying Nazi snowflake?

Sums up the GOP base perfectly. No wonder they want to cut funds for education. They want their base stupid and breed their spawn to follow in their parents footsteps.

than it is in liberals. And as this link says:

http://brainmadesimple.com/amygdala.html

When you think of the amygdala, you should think of one word. Fear. The amygdala is the reason we are afraid of things outside our control. It also controls the way we react to certain stimuli, or an event that causes an emotion, that we see as potentially threatening or dangerous.

point to both stronger influence by fear and a typically darker view of human nature as being intrinsic to conservative personality. Add to that greater natural, knee-jerk opposition to change and what is different -- in an era of enormous changes and increased differences.

Those must all have been useful survival characteristics through millions of years, but they're dysfunctions now. They can be brave and altruistic (among their own) as anyone with good leadership, but their leaders and media have been influencing those vulnerable to be the worst possible versions of themselves.

It seems the fear system of these people runs in the foreground far more of the time than the higher brain.

Trump just uses this to his advantage.

The thing about this is, there is no easy way to really turn them around. They are wired this way. They could be changed if they wanted to and wanted to work at it. Just as addicts (of all kinds, from over-eaters to meth-heads) can change.

They don't think they have a problem so they're not going to try to change.

Republican strategy has been to convince people who already feel vulnerable due to limited wealth, education, and job skills the the "others" are coming to take *everything* from them.

Rather than work to help people feel less worried about their lives by providing the support systems that would let people feel like they won't be living on the streets if one or two things go wrong in their lives, they do everything they can to exacerbate the fear that comes from living paycheck-to-paycheck with no real backup.

Republicans cultivate the disease of fear so that they can then convince the infected that they, and they alone, are the cure. Because they, and they alone, offer the kind of brutish solutions to the sources of this fear that seem like a strong, sure, immediate elimination of the "other".

It gets the republicans votes. It gives them the power they need to do what they want. And when they fail to actually address the "others", fail to alleviate the fear, they blame it on the democrats - they say they need even MORE power to eliminate the threat of the "other".

She HAD to act repub to get elected. Honestly the most moderate dem I ever voted for for president. But, she was about to uncork a big jug of whoop ass. Just my take on it. Welcome to DU.
