The Economy Is Not Booming - It Is Only Good For Billionaires Who Make The Media Say It's Great

Every single asshole with a microphone is repeating over, and over, and over the economy is "booming". Bull. It is only booming for America's most wealthy. They are somehow getting the CORPORATE MEDIA TO LIE TO US.

I really don't know how, but the narrative is how good the economy is. I guess they look at unemployment, jobs available and god knows what else, but we have been losing ground for 40 years.

The economy is only great for billionaires. The rest of us have to work our asses off for very little after paying the bills, and taxes.

I am sick of this "good economy" narrative. For most Americans we work our asses off and don't get ahead. The economy sucks.

I just hope voters remember they will come after their social security, healthcare and everything else Americans worked so hard for, to give it to their rich kids and donors.

That is their socialism right there, they give it back to their own, and forget about the citizens.

And my taxes are going up because I loose my exemption and many miscellaneous deductions no longer allowed under the TCJA.
Rising gas prices and increasing interest rates along with stagnant wage growth is killing the middle class.
And we can thank the insane policies of the current administration for this mess

many Americans. And, where is all of that so called extra pay that we were to get, when they passed the 2018 tax cut and jobs bill? All I see is everything costing more and nothing else significant on money coming in.

And wage increases are the last lagging indicator. We'll be well into the next recession and wages will still be rising. Bottom line, the wage growth we are seeing is the result of policies instituted years ago, and more than that it's the result of labor organizing and demanding higher wages. Also a factor is the public demand for higher wages, for instance, Amazon only raised wages because of the public shaming Bernie Sanders and others laid on them.

Now I know Amazon took other benefits away from their workers to get them to $15 an hour, but that decision has a multiplier effect still. In my city, a massive Amazon warehouse is being built and they're already advertising their job openings. All the other warehouse jobs in the city are giving raises so they won't lose their workers to Amazon. I know several people who've seen $2-3 an hour raises out of the blue with that exact explanation, they have to pay them better or risk losing them. Unions used to have this multiplier effect and still do to some extent.

Bottom line, the wage growth we are seeing is because the people rose up and demanded it.

The fact is that the last 40 years of policies have insured a system where things consistently get worse for 60+% of the population even when the economy is humming.

The top 3rd of the electorate is doing well. That is who the republicans are counting on. Convincing them that anyone doing less well only have themselves to blame. And that is made easier due to the racial disparity between the groups.

My wife and I are lucky enough to be in that group as are many others I know. However, some of us do not believe anyone is truly doing well unless all are.
Not a majority but more of our coworkers are coming over to the blue side.

Our house was straight ticket Democratic and we are vocal about it!
