I'm assuming the down ballot results reflected the house results. That is, legislatures may have turned Democratic. We flipped 3 governorships... maybe more by now.

(7,627 posts)I know the colorado state senate just flipped to democratic control for example. Hopefully many more did elsewhere.

But if I had a vote, I'd say gerrymander the hell out of anywhere we can; while simultaneously proposing a Constitutional amendment to ban the practice.

(4,830 posts)Each state draws its own lines. Hypergerrymandering has become such a problem that its up to the courts or the voters to act. Some states have passed laws to address this issue. It might be an issue for Dems to focus on politically. Push the issue. At state levels

(15,286 posts)of seats. This is exactly what happened in Pennsylvania. We went from 13R-5D to 9R-9D. The Democratic leaning CDs have Dem reps and the GOP leaning CDs have Rs.

Personally, I so want the states we take to gerrymander with the same shameless abandon that the Republicons have demonstrated. Maybe THEN the Supreme court will step in and end that atrocious practice.
