And mostly loses. I do know a coworker I had years ago (the one who used the word, "Illegals" a lot) liked him. He's a complete slimeball.

The initial vote had Rossi ahead by 233 votes

Some additional ballots were found and the Republican Secretary of State was under hourly calls from Rove at the WH to disallow the votes and there was arguments on both sides. He decided that the votes were legitimate and after THREE recounts Rossi was found to have lost by 133 votes.

That Republican Secretary of State was Sam Reed, a family/church friend from childhood. Haven't seen him in 40 years but it's why I say all Republicans are not evil.

He was honored by numerous civic groups including the Secretary of State Association.

Dino Rossi was appointed to a couple interim state legislative offices but has never won any of the numerous races he has run in. He deserves a participation ribbon.

wasn't a saint, but overall he was not a bad SoS; he had integrity.

My wife met Kim Schrier when she was canvassing during the primaries. Incredible woman and I am so glad to see her get elected.

And ran a disgusting campaign. At any rate, I had expected him to win because it’s a district that’s been red since it’s inception. One of my favorite wins of the night

Everyone else is waiting for more results. There’s been no concession from Rossi, nor has Schrier claimed victory.

Nonetheless, the trends are encouraging. As a long-time resident of WA-8, it would be a relief to have the district turn blue for the first time ever.
