Define that as Common Ground
Common Ground should be what the people want. Not compromising with GOP extremists or lobbyists.
Universal Background Checks would be the best example. Widely accepted by polls yet killed by the GOP

(31,261 posts)There is no real common ground worth pursuing as a priority between the two parties. In the current environment, focusing on "common ground" only makes sense from a public perspective. And from a public perspective, it means doing what the majority think is right and just.
Common Ground should also include "uphold the Constitution" by carrying out effective oversight, i.e., defending the Mueller investigation; acting on, supplementing the Mueller investigation with other House investigations where appropriate, and holding those responsible for and party to Constitutional and other violations publicly accountable.
