Trump drew a red line for Mueller; Mueller just crossed it

BY JONATHAN TURLEY, OPINION CONTRIBUTOR — 03/16/18 09:30 AM EDT

Special counsel Robert Mueller has issued a subpoena to the Trump Organization to turn over documents related to Trump’s business interests in Russia. In July, Trump was asked if investigating his finances would be a “red line,” and he responded that it would be. Now that Mueller has sent a subpoena flying over that red line, the stakes could not be higher for Trump.

The "red line" is a fiction created by Maggie Haberman and friends interviewing Trump, who were desperately trying to fabricate news instead of reporting it.

Through this process the press has created the fiction that something like a "red line" can exist.

Right now, we are seeing the fear and paranoia associated with what he thinks is going to happen.

Imagine what his state of mind will be when it actually HAPPENS.

Everything...E-V-E-R-Y-T-H-I-N-G...that Nunes blocked will now see the light of day. Witnesses will be recalled. No stone will be left unturned. Obviously, the Democrats cannot reveal every detail of the investigation as it happens. But they will reveal enough to remind Trump that they now control the House, and yes...there is no "red line."

There are FAR more problems in Trump's finances that "business interests in Russia." Trump university and income tax violations are a couple of problems, which could land Trump in prison.
