Georgia Secretary of State Robyn Crittenden told county election officials to count absentee ballots even if they lack a voters date of birth, as long as the voters identity can be verified, the Atlanta Journal Constitution reports.
Brian Kemp (R) holds the lead over Stacey Abrams (D) in the race to become Georgias governor. Abrams would need to gain more than 20,000 votes to force the race into a runoff.

(959 posts)they were post marked and had the intention of of voting. can't let the 'states' mistake void the voter's intent.
I realize it's a county, but im using state as the governing body be it town, county, state, or country.

(46,166 posts)I live on an avenue. I received mail that was incorrectly addressed to a street of the same name but designated as "street" instead of avenue. It had even originally been sent to a different city yet I still finally received it.
There's no excuse for the mailings to be returned to sender when they were clearly addressed to a county official. That decision stinks up the joint from Georgia all the way here to Colorado. Especially when historically the USPS has prided itself on deciphering weird addresses and still delivering the mail to the right place.
I so hope those ballots are counted, too, and there won't even be a need for a runoff.
