They worked for two years to make people miserable and then tried to feed lies about it in the run-up to the election.

TrumPutin just helped remind people what would be in store if they didn't get out and vote for their own interests. McConnell helped flip seats, too, by threatening to pay for their billionaires' tax cut by draining Medicare and SS.

Democrats who ran on making people's lives better, won, in general.

Reid had a statewide recount scare against John Ensign in '88 and always realized Democrats underperformed in Clark County especially in midterms.

I lived in Las Vegas from 1984 to late 2008 and still visit a few times per year. It was incredible how much the Democratic outreach and canvassing improved, beginning in 2006. That was like a midterm test drive for Reid's re-election fight in 2010, which he won by upset against Sharron Angle.

Polling now typically understates the Democrat in Nevada midterms, when pre-2006 it was the other way.
