For all the other issues swirling around him, could it be a simple case a very deep depression?

I am not a psychologist and don't play one on TV, but I have a very close friend (a man) who has battled depression for as long as I have known him (decades). When uncontrolled or inadequately controlled as meds come and go in their effectiveness, his whole persona changes. He can also get to a point where he shuts people out, including his wife and (adult) children.

Could that be the case with Trump in France and later here, with Arlington?

More consistent with Narcissistic Personality Disorder, of which he has many symptoms. They go through periods of low mood when things don't go their way, but it doesn't last weeks or months like depressive disorder does.

Narcissistic Personality Disorder and knowing one's mortality can't co-exist since death is the only thing that Donnie can't lie/bribe/deal his way out of, and that's the source of his being even more weird than usual.

But me personally I think it's paranoia because Mueller is closing the walls in around him

People who are depressed take their frustrations out inwardly.

Trump is pathologically incapable of blaming himself for anything.
