Mercy Hospital shooting: What was that ambulance doing?

I had CNN on mute and saw that an ambulance was being followed from above. It didn't seem to be going fast but the trip lasted a long time. Then it went down a ramp under a building. I clicked the sound on several times but they didn't comment on the ambulance. Does anyone know what that was all about?

It was going from Mercy to U of Chicago Hospital.

They have to evacuate the victims to other hospitals while doing a room by room search
ABC7 saying many shots, one cop shot and critical, one probable shooter hit, not sure if a lone shooter
Workers being staged in warming busses to await statements
Heard 3 witnesses being interviewed
They all pretty had the same description

Ambulance to university of Chicago medical which is another hospital in the area that has a higher level trauma center and police and fire were escorting the ambulance through traffic . The officer has a better chance there at level 4 or 5
