Roger Waters gets involved in Ecuador Steve Dozinger v Chevron

.
Roger Waters (of Pink Floyd) has spread his wings to do tours; because the man loves music.

Also, Roger Waters appears to rnjoy taking on battles he doesn't need to. As the Tweet above details, Roger Waters is on the record stating that the universal "WE" can't stand idle by and allow Chevron to destroy environments, harm 60,000 people and also be able to crush lawyer Steve Dozinger (who pointed out Chevron is to blame)

BACKGROUND

For 3 decades, oil profits were persued in the Amazon and rain forests by Texaco that became Chevron. The forests and lands were destroyed by the paradigm of - oil profits is more important than environments and people.

That ain't right - Steve Dozinger won a $9 billion verdict!

While Chevron was exhausting it's appeals the strategy was to attack the characters of Dozinger and judges who ruled Chevron had to pay $9 Billion.

For the time being, Chevron is winning via retaliation.

You can read the details about the case at Steve Donzinger's website ( HERE )

This Tweet of mine contains a link to the video of Dozinger's; which shows some of the carnage.

.

Summing it all up

As what one reporter calls a "serial whistleblower", where I'm battling giants like Goldman Sachs and Mitt Romney (where Sachs & Mitt also utilize retaliation techniques to evade justice) there are very few cases that have the ability to blow my mind; but NY Attorney at Law, Steve Dozinger's fighting Chevron just happens to be one of those cases.

It is a fact that Chevron (that acquired the original perpetrator Texaco) has abused the Ecuador wildlife, forestry and peoples. The evidence that the oil profiteers destroyed environments is beyond contestation!

Hence, it's not a matter of culpability; but simply one of accountability. Chevron is willing to do any stunts to avoid losing money of the fact Chevron is culpable for being reckless.

In Ecuador, Chevron was found guilty; but fled the country!

Steve Dozinger is the rare, brave (arguably gullible in believing Chevron would play fair) Attorney who welcomed the chance to be a David and take on a mega-Goliath.

Retaliation is as retaliation does; and, IMO, Chevron went way too far, this time; as did the judge who helped yank Dozinger's Bar License.

Lawyers are in peril, if this bad faith precedent - succeeds.

KUDOS to Steven Dozinger for hanging in the battle; because an unscrupulous court turned the case into a disbar of Dozinger's law license.

We pray for the day he gets to be a lawyer - again!

Plus, we must not forget Mr. Waters, who has Dome a wonderful thing of trying to make a difference.

WASHINGTON (Legal Newsline) – On Sept. 14, the District of Columbia Court of Appeals suspended attorney Steven R. Donziger from practicing law in Washington, D.C., effective immediately.

The court's decision comes shortly after the Appellate Division of the New York Supreme Court suspended Donziger’s license in the state of New York in July. Considering New York and Washington, D.C., were the only jurisdictions in which Donziger was licensed to practice law, he is no longer allowed to practice law at all.

...

The Southern District of New York determined Donziger participated in coercion, bribery, money laundering among other things. While Donziger attempted to get the judgement vacated, the Second Circuit court made it clear it was unmoved.

On October 14 this column summarized a contempt of court motion filed by Chevron Corp. against Steven Donziger, the mastermind of an effort to sue Chevron that has been found to be massively fraudulent in the United States and abroad. The October 14 column noted that much of Chevron's contempt motion was redacted, pending review by United States District Judge Lewis Kaplan. The non-redacted portions themselves were highly revealing, however.

...

Pink Floyd’s Roger Waters, a notorious public supporter of Donziger’s media campaign, apparently received a 0.076% interest in the Ecuadorian judgment. The judgment purported to be worth over $8billion, so Waters's share was potentially in the millions.
