Acknowledging alcohol was just wonderful for the last 100 years...the millions of alcoholics and families destroyed by alcohol...and now opioids......I would never ever vote Kennedy

(90,674 posts)We all know his great-grandpa was a rum-runner, but what does that have to do with the young man's support of legalization of pot after prohibition of same has proven to be a calamitous failure, same as prohibition of alcohol?

(12,422 posts)He and his thugs made millions during and after prohibition...Joe also promoted anti cannabis laws and was integral in anti pot legalization...the Kennedy family hence has profited greatly from the use of alcohol and the demonization of cannabis...there investments in pharmaceuticals has been ongoing since the 50s...and opioids is one of the worst addictive pharmaceuticals on the market...
My reasearch as yet has not turned up large Kennedy investment in cannabis, but I certainly would Not be surprised...
My cynicism towards everything Kennedy is well founded in fact...
Grandpa would be proud the Kennedys are on the next prohibitive gravytrain....

(90,674 posts)Are we to ban everything that someone somewhere might use in a way deleterious to their own health? There are religions for that kind of thing, and others who can choose to abstain from whatever, up to and including sex. But linking pot and opioids got us into this mess with overflowing prisons in the first place.
I am not sure at all what point the OP was trying to make.
