Instead of Trump tweets, read a "tweet" from this REAL U.S. patriot

I endorsed Russ Feingold for president, when "W" ran for his second term. Later, I jumped onto the Kerry bandwagon; but after D.U. was hacked, all my older "archives" vanished and the date that I joined Democratic Underground was changed.

Restore the legitimacy of our government. Having Trump as president is a national emergency. @LegitAction

After THE 9/11 occured, Russ Feingold was the only representative in D.C. to vote against the U.S.A. PATRIOT ACT!

I am not Jeffersons Ghost 2, because I was the first to defend the 4th Amendment of the US Constitution. I posted under the same name at Free Republican to get right in their fucked-up, racist faces! Was that overly aggressive?

They evicted Russ Feingold from Washington D.C. but I will haunt distorted Republican values at D.U. with the support of readers, replies and recommendations.

I must have talked to him for about half an hour on the phone in July of 2016, and at that point, he was still confident he would be returned to the Senate. I think this year, he would have been.

A TRUE U.S. PATRIOT, instead of a patriot act.

I'm sure he spoke to a LOT of people. Russ is very much a people person.

We turned out to have a common issue that we both wanted addressed, and I offered my knowledge on the matter when he was going to bring it up. Unfortunately it never came to that.

The PATRIOT Act is an Act of Congress that was signed into law by President George W. Bush on October 26, 2001. With its ten-letter abbreviation (USA PATRIOT) expanded, the full title is "Uniting and Strengthening America by Providing Appropriate Tools Required to Intercept and Obstruct Terrorism Act of 2001".

On May 26, 2011, President Barack Obama signed the PATRIOT Sunsets Extension Act of 2011, a four-year extension of three key provisions in the USA PATRIOT Act: roving wiretaps, searches of business records, and conducting surveillance of "lone wolves"—individuals suspected of terrorist-related activities not linked to terrorist groups.

Following a lack of Congressional approval, parts of the Patriot Act expired on June 1, 2015. With the passage of the USA Freedom Act on June 2, 2015, the expired parts were restored and renewed through 2019.

13. *Sigh* And again, the public record does not support your claim...

He was in office only for the first US Patriot Act which, again, the record does not support your claim that "he was the only representative to vote against it." He was the only SENATOR to vote against it, but was joined by 66 other members of Congress in the House so, no, not the only representative to vote against it. The US Patriot Act expired and portions had to be reauthorized later in June 2011. Feingold was out of office in January 2011, having lost election in November 2010, so not in a position to vote on reauthorizations. The USA Freedom Act, bastard sibling of the US Patriot Act, came into being in 2015, years after Feingold was no longer a senator.
