Mike Espy was my mentor when I first came to Capitol Hill

I was working for G V "Sonny" Montgomery, but Mike Espy was who got me that job, and he had just moved to USDA, and he kept up with me.

I guess this is a more emotional moment for me than I thought it would be. Mike Espy is an absolutely great man, and I'm more proud of having been involved with this campaign than any other campaign I've worked on.

We didn't quite do it this time, it looks like. But holy shit did we pull off some surprises. Warren County, by 10. Lowndes County, by 20. This points to a real reshaping of Mississippi politics.

Anyways, DU: Alphonso Michael Espy

I'm so proud of this man right now.

2. Why won't MS ever change? Why would any major corporation elect to relocate there?

Is the racism of so many of its citizens destined to keep the state at the "bottom of the economic and social heap" forever?

Except corn, beans and cotton.

Without Federal Money Mississippi would be 3rd world. They are almost there now. I travel and stay there a few times a year. It is just sad.

It’s a shitty place to live, so no one wants to move there. And beause no one wants to move there, it just remains a shitty place to live. And the cycle repeats.

Kudos for having him as a mentor, Wow! And everything we've heard about his opponent is unbelievably deplorable. How anyone could intentionally vote for her is completely beyond me...

"He turned 5 Trump supporting counties in Mississippi blue, with zero national help."

That needs to be stressed and repeated.

In that sense he's like Beto: he took one to the gut to remind the party that we can compete in the state.

some old fart in MS saying something like, "Well, we like to keep our ladies up on a pedestal." Or words to that effect. I made a solemn vow never to step foot in MS! I do feel for the good liberals there, tho.

This campaign brought me hope and inspired me with your courage.

You made me proud to be an American for the hope and hard work alone.

Onward.
