https://thehill.com/homenews/administration/418727-trump-reportedly-spoke-to-nigel-farage-about-brexit-dealRight now as the deal stands she may not, they may not, be able to trade with the U.S., and I dont think they want that at all. That would be a very big negative for the deal, Trump told reporters.

No. If the deal passed, which it won't, the UK would stay within the EU-US trade deal,

rather than being able to negotiate a separate trade deal with the US.....a deal which would likely be worse for the UK.

A government assessment estimated that 15 years from the day of departure, GDP will be 0.6 percent lower than it would have been if Britain had stayed in the EU if the U.K. maintains frictionless trade with the bloc.
If it leaves without a deal and there are significant barriers to trade, the economy would be up to 9.3 percent smaller.
...
It did not analyze the specific deal agreed upon between Britain and the bloc last week. But it estimated that under similar terms, involving no tariffs but some non-tariff barriers to trade, the economic hit would be at the lower end of the range a decline in GDP of between 2.5 percent and 3.9 percent compared with staying in the EU.
...
The government assessment says new trade deals would do little to offset the economic damage done by Brexit. It estimates that deals with the United States, China and other countries would add only 0.2 percent to GDP after 15 years.

(19,956 posts)3. There's only one (currently) option to do a separate trade deal with the US, outside the EU, and
that's after a hard Brexit. In that event, Britain would be desperate to do a trade deal with the US, and get out from under WTO rules. They (65m people in UK) will be in no position to dictate better terms than they would as a member of the 500m people EU to US trade agreement. The UK Government may think otherwise but it flies in the face of reality.
