Viewers Noticed Some Very Disturbing Details In 'Rudolph The Red-Nosed Reindeer'

Sorry if this has already been posted. Some of the comments are pretty funny.

“Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer” aired Tuesday night on CBS, and Twitter users gathered around the digital fireplace to share the moment.

And what a moment it was.

Some people joked that they noticed a few things in the Christmas classic that they didn’t always spot ― or simply ignored ― when they saw it years ago.

Here are some of those humorous observations:

When I was a kid Yukon and the Abominable Snowman were the only things I found interesting. Wrong. It’s brilliant and will last forever.

She was depressed.

Corinne Conley voices Dolly, a seemingly normal girl rag doll on the Island of Misfit Toys. Her misfit problem is never explained on the special; many decades later, on NPR's Wait Wait… Don't Tell Me! news quiz show (broadcast December 8, 2007), Rudolph's producer, Arthur Rankin Jr., noted that Dolly's problem was psychological, caused by being abandoned by her owner (named as Sue in the special) and suffering depression from feeling uncared-for.

I think the doll is on the Island of Misfit Toys because she doesn't have a nose or fingers.

Every year we watch that toy bird tell everyone that it can't fly and then, during the credits, that elf throws that bird out of the sleigh!
The moral of the story is that you will get bullied for being different until someone can exploit you for that difference.
Santa is a dick.

he didn't have the confidence to do it or the hope that anyone would care for him. The elf didn't throw the bird, he offered him an umbrella to use like a parachute the same as the other toys got. The bird rejected it though and took fly because he knew he was going to be wanted now.

Despite Rudolph's promise to King Moonracer, Santa never stopped by the island. The show just ended with Santa and the reindeer flying off into the night.

The producers were deluged with cards and letters from concerned children around the country wondering WTF they were thinking. So they shot NEW footage of the airlift for the next airing, and that's the version we've seen ever since.

first it's Operation Paperclip, then they fake the moon landing, then they fake the rescue of the misfit toys.
