MPs back motion declaring ministers in contempt of parliament over Brexit legal advice

MPs have now passed the main motion declaring ministers in contempt of parliament over their failure to publish the Brexit legal advice in full by 311 votes to 293 – a majority of 18. The motion orders the “immediate publication” of the document.


Calling this situation "unprecedented" doesn't even begin to cover it.

UK government will publish full Brexit legal advice after contempt proceedings

LONDON (Reuters) - The government will publish the full legal advice on Britain’s exit from the European Union after being found in contempt of parliament for failing to do so, Andrea Leadsom, leader of the lower house of parliament, said on Tuesday.

from voting during the crucial Brexit vote in a few days - and the government needs every vote possible to have a snowflake in hell's chance of getting that through. So it's not surprising they've given in. It'll be interesting to see what its details say.
