New York (CNN Business)Fear of an economic slowdown is rocking Wall Street and the oil markets.
The Dow briefly plunged below 23,000 on Thursday and the Nasdaq is flirting with a bear market. US oil prices plummeted more than 4% to the lowest level since August 20 17.
The latest wave of selling shows how worried investors have become about the eventual demise of the economic expansion. Those jitters were exacerbated by concerns that the Federal Reserve is making a mistake by continuing to raise interest rates.
"Equity markets are quickly approaching the capitulation phase after having broken below critical support," Sam Stovall, chief investment strategist at CFRA Research, told CNN Business.

I suspect oil prices are down because investors expect a slower economy and thus less demand for energy. This will hurt Russia since it's a big gas station with nukes.
Listening to funds manager is interesting. What are they going to say? Their livings depend on people investing.
