… falls short, although I can read between the lines. I don't like the "sandwich" letter - opening and closing with fluff. He should have been much more blunt.

Too polite, too carefully worded not to offend, and won't make a single Trump supporter rethink anything. We might get what he is saying, but we aren't the people who need to be persuaded.

I think they also have in their minds (as certainly Barack and Michelle did in January 2017) that the "peaceful transfer of power," i.e., acting to to maintain stability, is paramount. And not to scare the people!
