People may well be in for a nasty surprise come January

I haven't received my W2 yet but I do have my last paycheck and it usually is a decent stand in. It looks like I owe over 1,000 from my main job and my summer job is always under withheld. This isn't looking good. On edit I usually end up within 100 either way.

I talked to a friend who is a CPA recently, and he said many of his clients will be quite surprised at their tax liability this year.

and I am fortunate that I can afford this but I didn't think it would be this bad. I could end up owing around 1500.

and being overwhelmed by taking care of my father (dementia) and his expenses, and starting a new business... I wasn't paying attention and didn't let them know about my income in 2016 (figured they had access to all my info... not trying to hide anything )....

to compensate for the tax cut. After all, it was a Trump-GOP operation.
