Robert Reich

@RBReich
The state of American democracy:
—A President who serves Putin
—A Sec. of Defense who serves contractors
—An EPA admin. who serves the coal industry
—A Sec. of HHS who serves pharma
—A Sec. of the Interior who serves Big Oil
—A Sec. of Education who serves for-profit colleges

There was a post either this morning or last night where there had been some appointments to positions that were not usually political, uncovered by FOIA requests.

The only way they can win is by cheating. They have been cheating to "win" elections for decades. They are all serving their own self-interests. Nixon stole the election from Humphrey and again from McGovern via Watergate. Ronald Reagan (and GHW Bush) stole the election from Carter by colluding with Iran to hold the American hostages until after the election in 1980. George W. Bush should never have been sworn in as president, having the Supreme Court handing him the win but precluding anyone from using their ruling as precedent. The elections of 2002 and beyond welcomed in the era of electronic voting machines, some of which have no paper trails and all of which have "proprietary" software. Gerrymandering has produced virtually incontestable seats in many areas across the country. I'm sure there are many federal, state, and even local elections where (R) senators and representatives "won" by cheating. They have to cheat. They can't win without cheating. None of them give a rats ass about the United States or her citizens. All they care about is money and power. Call me cynical if you'd like. My husband would call me a realist.

Poor people never offer people jobs - at least according to Jerry Falwell Jr.

All of that Jesus stuff must be from some other bible.

I don't really need the sarcasm thingie, do I?
