Why is no journalist connecting the dots on today's headlines? Russia wants to hurt USA, Trump is Putin's puppet, Trump doesn't want to reopen government which will end up with many experts leaving government and hindering US for decades. Republicans need to act to protect the USA. Enough with partisan excuses.

And the media comment. If the President had a (D) after his name the media would have been all over this shitstorm.

(2,900 posts)The long-game that was necessary to do this requires an enormous shakedown of dozens to have a system in place that leads all the way to the Oval Office.
There is an extremely treasonous situation underway...

(11,885 posts)trumps desperate to please putin , and his failure to lift sanctions for him have him mad, so trump is hurting this country for him now to prevent putin's anger with him for many , many issues, especially with the sanctions not being lifted. Wonder if putin has him on film doing drugs while with prostitutes, or having sex or attacking an underage beauty contestant while he was in russia. HE has a lot of things on him for him to act like he has been towards putin and russia. That's why he's attacking all law enforcement that could expose him, especially the FBI.

(6,535 posts)I'm just not sure how far they're trying to push it--is it meant to be an annoyance, or is this a last-ditch death-blow since they know things are different in Congress now? It's fucked up.

(5,499 posts)Putin maintains his power in Russia by keeping the Russian people uncomfortable. If your too busy trying to get by or worried that your being watched, your probably not to to get too political.

(4,035 posts)Hey, all of you soybean farmers who voted for this idiot, how is this working out for ya. Then, of course, theres corn, and on and on. Trump is the gift to the Russian economy. They own him and are giddy about how well its working out for their economy. And is it assumed that we, the American public, are not going to be able to handle the outcome of the investigation??? Nothing like this has ever happened in this country before. I think we deserve to know the truth, the whole truth, and NOTHING BUT THE TRUTH.
Why is it taking so long to bring this fiasco of a presidency to an end? Is it because the chain of command is corrupted all down the line and sending this crop of crooks all to jail for life or longer (sweet thought) would be too much for the stupid American public to handle?
We are truly in uncharted waters, and its going to get worse before it gets better. Wow, what a ride!

It's a feature of their plan to SHUTTER GOVERNMENT.
The increasing chaos it will cause in the land is Putin's goal.
And there will be economic chaos as well as personal emergencies.

(90,681 posts)It's what they do. What do you think the headline stories in today's New York Times are about? You know, the story that all the talking heads on cable tv touted as breaking news last night? The reason they all credited the New York Times is because it was Times reporters who ferreted it out and put it together.
Why would you want newspapers to print "speculation" when what we need is solidly-sourced truth? We still have some great newspapers.
As for cable news, I will ask you the same question I ask everyone else who comes here claiming that "no one" is researching, reporting, connecting dots, inviting experts, etc etc: Do you ever watch MSNBC, Rachel Maddow in particular? And if you don't why not? Rachel (or as Charles Pierce calls her, Kindly Doc Maddow) has been connecting dots from the get-go, with charts, documents, heavy research, well-footnoted references to newspaper journalists out there in the trenches, and outstanding expert guests.
Rachel's the most academic, but she is not the only one.

They want to leave US vulnerable to cyber attacks for sure, and to divide Americans against each other and weaken many institutions. Federal law enforcement agencies have been working without pay for the lat 3 weeks. I bet retirement or a new job looks attractive to many of them after 2 years of insults from the President too.
