Before Dems decide if they want to subpoena, they should publicly ask the President to turn over the notes to the gang of eight (the 8 congress people who see classified info). When he refuses, they have a narrative to sell to the press about the weird secrecy.

3. Interpreters don't take traditional notes

Heard a seasoned interpreter on NPR this afternoon. The interpreters "notes" are essentially squiggles and drawings which help steer or map the translation on the fly in real time. There are no typical notes written and weeks later, that same map drawn in real time may not even make sense to the same interpreter.
