BREAKING......Steve King is stripped of all Committee assignments. ....

Steve King of Iowa has been stripped of al his Committee assignments. He is basically useless now. Just heard on MSNBC.

King's words and actions have no place in Congress. I hope the man in the White House is listening.

Robin Opsahl, Des Moines Register
Published 7:12 p.m. CT Jan. 14, 2019

... “Leader McCarthy’s decision to remove me from committees is a political decision that ignores the truth," King said in a statement Monday night. House Republican Leader Kevin McCarthy, of California, said Sunday he would take action after King told the New York Times: “White nationalist, white supremacist, Western civilization — how did that language become offensive?”

Since the announcement, many Republicans have spoken out against King's remarks, including Iowa Sens. Chuck Grassley and Joni Ernst. Both had previously campaigned with King.

The decision to remove King from the judiciary, agriculture and small business committees, metes out a punishment for the Kiron representative that is highly unusual but McCarthy said it is warranted ...

Steve King Loses House Committee Seats Over White Supremacy Remark

SNIP--House Republican leaders removed Representative Steve King of Iowa from the Judiciary and Agriculture Committees on Monday night as the party officials scrambled to appear tough on racism and contain damage from comments Mr. King made to The New York Times questioning why white supremacy is considered offensive.

The punishment came on a day when Mr. King’s own party leadership moved against him, with the Senate majority leader, Mitch McConnell, suggesting Mr. King find “another line of work” and Senator Mitt Romney saying he should quit. In an attempt to be proactive, the House Republicans stripped him of his committee seats in the face of multiple Democratic resolutions to censure Mr. King that are being introduced this week.

Those measures will force Republicans to take a stand on whether to go along with the House Democratic majority’s attempt to publicly reprimand one of their own.

SNIP--Mr. McCarthy called a special meeting of the Republican Steering Committee to consider removing Mr. King from Judiciary — which has jurisdiction over immigration, voting rights and impeachment — and Agriculture, which is a prized committee for Iowans. Mr. King also lost his seat on the Small Business Committee. The steering committee vote was unanimous.

Donnie World. That would be a movie I'd pay to see. It's all black comedy, in the classic sense, from here on out.

Black comedy, also known as dark comedy or gallows humor, is a comic style that makes light of subject matter that is generally considered taboo, particularly subjects that are normally considered serious or painful to discuss. Comedians often use it as a tool for exploring vulgar issues, thus provoking discomfort and serious thought as well as amusement in their audience. Popular themes of the genre include death and violence (murder, suicide, abuse, domestic violence, graphic violence, rape, torture, war, genocide, terrorism, corruption), discrimination (chauvinism, racism, sexism, homophobia), disease (anxiety, depression, nightmares, drug abuse, mutilation, disability, terminal illness, insanity), sexuality (sodomy, homosexuality, incest, infidelity, fornication), religion, and barbarism.

And of course, our current president.

Denouncing racism and racist words and actions (after all, King is the original architect of the wall) should have happened 1000 times in the last 2-years (everyone remember Charlottesville?!)

McCarthy told CBS' "Face the Nation" on Sunday. "I have a scheduled meeting with him on Monday, and I will tell you this: I've watched on the other side that they do not take action when their members say something like this. Action will be taken. I'm having a serious conversation with Congressman Steve King on his future and role in this Republican Party."

Not enough. King needs to be censured. They need to make an example out of him.

Dems censured and expelled Jim Traficant.

Other people who have been censured in US history: Andrew Jackson, Alexander Hamilton, Charlie Rangel, Gerry Studds, Joe McCarthy, and several more.

Dems have taken plenty of action against Dem members.

Next they'll be posturing that they're not a male supremacy party.

But 2020's still coming and they'll now do anything to win, so they'll continue election theft and further undermine democracy by turning people against people and otherwise degrading national understanding and behaviors.

They'll continue their move to authoritarianism to go with that (inevitably furthering sexism, racism), and of course they'll still serve the very wealthy, inflaming rabid social and religious conservatives and left-wing dissidents to power it all.

On the plus side, "Poor Steve" shows they know they're losing right now.
