All those federal workers on furlough or not being paid

should just borrow the money they need from their retired parents, see. I mean, their Social Security payments are still arriving on time. I'm sure their parents will loan them the money and skip eating and stuff for a while. Yeah, that's the answer...

I mean, gee, they're old and retired and they don't need all that money any more!

Surely everyone has parents with money to burn, right?

Mitt will tell you everyone he knows has lots of money to lend to their kids ......

A lot of those TSA and ATC workers, along with the FBI and IRS folks are mortgaged and credit card limited to the max. Everyone's trying to live larger than they can really afford, and they don't have any room for error in their income needs.

That's the American Way! Few people really live within their means any longer. In fact, it's becoming harder and harder every year to do that on any lower middle-class income. So, people are living on credit, for the most part, and are maxed out on that, too.

There's almost no safety net in most households. That's what the reality is.
