Frozen Pants Take Over Minnesota Neighborhood

https://abcnews.go.com/US/minnesota-neighborhood-pranked-frozen-pants/story?id=36377805
When the cold gets tough in Minnesota, one longtime Minneapolis resident uses frozen pants to make it more fun.

Tom Grotting is famous in his Minneapolis neighborhood for freezing pants and placing them in unlikely places, including his front yard.

“I mostly do it for my neighbor, Diane,” Grotting told ABC News. “The winter gets a little long and she doesn’t like winter very much so it’s mostly entertainment for Diane.”

Grotting soaks the pants in a bucket of water and then hangs them outside, sculpting them as they freeze. The whole process takes less than 30 minutes, he said.

I only wish I had thought of this. I also live MPLS.

This is great! I love it when people can take a bleak situation and inject some humor and whimsy into it. Very creative!

I am glad he is thinking of his neighbor's mental health!

I missed the match. I'm in the US, so I didn't watch it as I was at work. I'll be watching the highlights tonight!

Used to scare the living crap out of me as a kid. I always had to read to the very end when the character makes friends with the pants.

in 1983 and I had just returned from a trip to CA and TJ (Tijuana) where I bought an empty bottle that was wrapped in the skin and attached hoof of a cow. I don't know who would use that and to what purpose. But when I returned to Phila and it snowed I got an idea. I used it to make hoof prints in the steps on a stoop covered in snow. I wonder what the person thought when they saw Santa's reindeer's' footprints coming to their home via the front door in Jan.
