Nothing against VMI mind you but those were way more formative years than when he was at EVMS

....Since last week I've done an informal, anecdotal check on this and literally everyone I spoke to out of close to 100 or so had the same situation. Seniors (both in high school and college) chose their yearbook pictures and wrote their own "blurbs" or thank yous or whatever they were called.

And you are not the first person to confirm that VMI and colleges, med schools and others do this as well. The people being willfully obtuse about this are starting to get pathetic and annoying.

It also pisses me off that people are comparing this to Franken. No, sorry. Franken has always been a tireless defender of progressive causes and a staunch Democrat. Northam was a Republican until roughly 10 years ago. Sorry, but I'm not going to the mat to defend this guy of all people, especially since it's clear that he knew exactly what he was doing, and despite what some hyperbolic folks on here have been saying he hasn't exactly been a tireless champion for racial justice.

At least Robert Byrd owned up to his youthful mistakes and spent the rest of his life making up for it. Northam as an opportunist and nothing more.

These pages are just ads to support the yearbook. The content comes from the person featured in the page.

WTF? All this time I thought they were saying, "cool man." Couldn't figure out why this was a wink-wink nod thing. NOW I get it. Poor old deaf lady.

I was the editor of yearbook. I had the duty of overlooking all layouts and pages. They had to meet my approval before going to print. If I were to come across something as offensive as this, I wouldn't have let it go to print.
