Play with Alexa, get comfortable, and then start buying Smart plugs, bulbs, etc. I'll see you at the 12-step meeting.

that Alexa doesn't? I could get a free one with Fedex points but wasn't sure I "needed" one.

Then, play with it. I was way-skeptical about what use I'd get out of it, until I started attaching "skills" to it. Now, when I say "good morning" to it, my coffee is made, my news is read and it even starts my car!
