As the VA story unfolded and then the Elizabeth Warren bombshell hit my thinking became more and more muddled. I had some strong opinions, but had difficulty articulating them. Now, many threads later I feel much better equipped to think about the next such events. And I have DUers to thank.
1 – In cases of old sexual assault accusations, take seriously the possibility of morphed memories on both sides of the debate.

2 – We need a repertoire of responses to denounce bad behavior. The death penalty for everything makes no sense. I wish we'd figured this out before we lost Franken.

3 - I acquired the perfect phrase, "outrage amplification" to describe what goes on when bad behavior is discovered on the part of a public figure. Note, I'm not saying no outrage is warrented, just that proportionality is appropriate.

4 - As much as we want to support a candidate, it's OK to make a judgement that the right will make a story to heavy to carry and we should turn to someone else
